I was born in Seriate (Bergamo) on July 3rd, 1977.  
I received the Master degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Information Engineering from the University of Brescia in 2001 and 2005, respectively. 
Since 2002 I have been carrying out my research activity at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Brescia.  
In 2008 I became Assistant Professor in the field of Electrical Engineering (ING-IND/31 Elettrotecnica). At the end of 2016 I was selected as Associate Professor of Electromagnetic Fields (ING-INF/02 Campi Elettromagnetici).
I have authored or co-authored about 150 papers published in international journals, conference proceedings and books.
I am a member of IEEE (Photonics Society and Power & Energy Society), Optical Society of America (OSA), European Microwave Association (EuMA), Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni (CNIT), Istituto Nazionale di Ottica (INO), Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), and Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Scienze Fisiche della Materia (CNISM). 
I regularly serve as referee for several international journals, and for national research projects funded by the Italian Ministry for Education (MIUR).
